JOB POSTING
DATE: MARCH 16, 2010
POSITION: STUDENT PASTOR
BASIC FUNCTIONS: The role of the Student Pastor is to lead and coordinate the culturally diverse high and middle school ministries of New Community Church. Particularly: (1) To develop both age-specific ministries to effectively introduce students to Jesus and help them grow to be more like Him. (2) To provide a unified sense of purpose and vision that is developmentally appropriate. (3) To organize student events that bring together the age, social and racial diversity in the student population. (4) To provide opportunities for students to develop their love for God, one another, their unchurched friends, and a hurting world. (5) To assist the church in bridging the generational divide by encouraging transformative encounters between students, adults and children. (6) To shepherd the leaders of the student ministry by giving them ownership, rewarding them, standing up for them as their advocate while allowing fair criticism, requiring involvement in their lives as a spiritual mentor and friend. (7) To develop a relational ministry model that takes the church outside the four walls and into the local high and middle schools, or anywhere students congregate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A clear, proven full-time track record in leadership of a growing student ministry.

6. Ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
