Rickey Bolden, the seventh of ten children,was raised in a single-parent home inDallas, TX. Rickey escaped the city’surban violence through high schoolathletics, achieving All-American status in football and All-State in basketball.After a decorated collegiate career at SMU, he went on to excel at offensive tackle for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns.While training for his seventh year, the lineman literally walked off the field, hearing God’s call to ministry.After seminary, Rickey became pastor of Southeast Christian Fellowship, a tiny church in Washington, D.C.Under his leadership, it grew to over 400 people per week. During this time, he helped start a youth center called The House. In 2005, Rickey joined us here at New Community Church and serves as our Senior Pastor.
